Privacy

Tate Café collects the bare minimum needed to run guest accounts and rankings. No advertising, no audience measurement, no third-party services.

Data controller

Data processed

• Guest account: nickname, country, icon, creation and last-visit dates. No email, no password, no real name.
• Recovery code: only a cryptographic fingerprint is kept; the code itself is shown once, to you.
• Coins and votes: history of coins received and inserted, games supported.
• Sessions: one random token per device (in a cookie), of which only a fingerprint is kept.
• Abuse prevention: a (non-reversible) fingerprint of your IP address, never the address itself, to limit account creation and repeated attempts.

Purposes and legal bases

• Running your account, your coins and the rankings: performance of the service you request (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
• Protecting the rankings against cheating and bots: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Retention

• Account: until you delete it.
• IP fingerprints and abuse-prevention events: 30 days.
• Sessions: one year after the last visit on that device.

Deleting your account

From “My account” you can delete your account at any time. It is then irreversibly anonymised: nickname, icon, code and sessions are erased; your votes stay in the rankings with no link to you (only the country is kept, for country rankings). Your former nickname stays reserved for 30 days.

Cookies

Tate Café only uses two strictly necessary cookies, exempt from consent (CNIL guidelines):

• tc_session: keeps you signed in to your account (one year);
• tc_lang: remembers the language you chose (one year).

Nothing else is stored in your browser; no advertising or analytics trackers. Fonts and images are served by Tate Café itself.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, objection and portability. “My account” lets you download all your data (JSON) and delete your account. For any other request: contact@tate.cafe. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr) or your local data protection authority.

Minors

Guest accounts do not rely on consent and collect no identity data. No minimum age is required.
